What Is the Jeep Wave?

By Adam Smith

Have you ever noticed that Jeep driver's wave at one and other when they pass? It's something most people don't understand. Surely they can't all know one and other! Well, there is such a thing as the 'Jeep Wave', and it is something that all Jeep drivers should be aware of. In fact, it is believed that this wave has been a tradition since around World War II. Read on to discover everything you need to know about it.

So, let's begin by taking a look at the history of the Jeep Wave. It is believed that during the military this wave came about as a way to salute high-ranking officers without exposing them. Many believe that soldiers who returned from the war then continued the wave on as a sign of respect. However, whether this story is the truth or not is still debated.

No matter the origins of the Jeep, the wave is essentially a sign of respect amongst drivers. However, it is a pretty big deal, and there is even a point system in place. If you are a new owner of a Jeep, you will need to be aware of whom you should be waving to and why. There is a pecking order, with drivers with more rugged, older Jeeps receiving more points. So, you can expect a ton of points if you have a vintage Jeep. If you have a newer Jeep, you will need to soup it up if you are to land some major points.

Not only will you find the points system on the web, but you will also note that there are rules that must be adhered to as well. This includes the fact that the tradition of the Jeep Wave must be upheld by all Jeepers. You are required to initiate the wave when you come into contact with a higher scoring Jeep. You must continue the wave until one of the following occurs - the higher scoring vehicle has passed you and is no longer in view, the wave is blatantly disregarded, or the wave is returned. The only scenario whereby you don't need to return the wave is if the vehicle has a score below 0.

However, if you come across a vehicle with a score below, you can still wave at them, and you are encouraged to do so. This is seen as an opportunity to mentor and guide the owner of the Jeep, in an attempt to help them correct the error of their ways. If you are not sure about the status of the Jeep passing you by, or you do not have time to figure it out, you should initiate the wave. It's better to be safe than sorry, and you do not want to run the risk of offending anyone.

How To Care and Clean Leather and Its Products

By Dickson Adom

Leather has to be cared for to prolong their use. They must be cleaned regularly to free them of substances that can slow down their performance when used for the production of articles. Every type of leather has a special way of caring for it. For instance, Deerhide, Buckskin, and Elk leathers can be cleaned by washing them with mild soap and water. However, do not squeeze or wring it dry because it brings wrinkles in the leather.

Suedes are cleaned using a stiff bristle brush or fine sandpaper can be used to clean away dirt and most spotting on them. The suede is brushed vigorously until the dirt disappears. It is then wiped with a damp sponge. An art gum eraser can equally be used to remove dirt on suede. A commercial suede cleaner can be purchased and used to clean suede.

Smooth leather is cleaned with several commercial leather cleaners such as Saddle soaps, Omega Carnauba cream as well as leather conditioners can be used to clean smooth leather. Saddle soaps are applied with a wet sponge or brush worked into thick leather. It is then wiped off with a cloth and then polished to a soft luster. Examples of saddle soaps include Kiwi saddle soap, Belmont saddle soap, Propert saddle soap, Castile saddle soap and Blue Ribbon saddle soap.

Don't store leather garments in tightly sealed plastic bags. Leather garments should be stored in an area where there is both ample space and circulation of air. Plastic bags tend either to stick to leather or even discolour it. Also, do not spray commercial moth repellent sprays on leather since they contain chemicals that may discolour it.

All dye applicators used in water-soluble dyes can be rinsed clean in warm water. However, those used for oil and spirit solvent dyes can be rinsed clean with a mild alcohol solvent. After they have been rinsing cleaned, they should be washed with soap and warm water and then dried.

Leather items are affected by several factors and conditions. Most of these are environmental factors. If these factors and conditions are not controlled or curbed effectively, the leather articles cannot perform their functions well. It could even result in the spoilage of the leather items. Some of these factors are dirt, water, oil or grease, chemicals, and drying.

1. Dirt

This is the common factor that can affect virtually all leather items due to the fact that it is circulated with air. Therefore, leather product users should on a regular basis clean off the dust that finds their way on their leather items. A clean, damp cloth can be used to wipe off the dust from leather items. However, dirt in eyelets and closed up the corners of leather products can be blown away with a blower. Leather items on showcases displayed for sale should be covered with a transparent rubber to shield them from dust.

2. Water

Water can cause leather items to warp or shrink. It can render them very weak, dull and unattractive. All leather users should be very cautious of its effects. Water should be kept away or far from where leather items are stored or kept. If water mistakenly pours on a leather product it should be wiped out immediately and allowed to dry slowly at moderate temperature.

3. Oil/Grease

Oily substances though can be used to enhance the surface quality of leather items when they are applied well, they can also cause adverse effects when they find their way expectedly on finished leather products. They can soil or stain an aspect of the leather item. This certainly affects its general outlook.

4. Chemicals

Chemicals can cause drastic effects on leather items. They can eat off the top layers of the leather items. All chemicals, especially corrosives ones like acids must be kept away from all leather items.

5. Drying

Leather items should be dried slowly at moderate or room temperature. They should not be exposed to the harsh radiation of the sun. Exposure of leather items to the radiant heat of the sun can cause them to fade or pale. Continual exposure can cause the leather products to shrink in size.

There are some time-tested ways of taking care of leather. Some of these ways include storing, cleaning, conditioning and flattening.

1. Storing

Store the leather in airy places. Humid atmosphere or environment must be avoided. Crumpling of leather must also be avoided when storing a pack of it. They must be flattened. Already finished articles in leather must be stored with stuffings. The storage area must be free from excessive heat, which would definitely affect the leather. Before the artifacts are stored, they have to be dried thoroughly. Special fungicide compounds must be sprayed on the stored leather material to prevent molding.

2. Cleaning

Smooth leather must be cleaned by the use of neutral soap. The soap would help remove the soil at the surface of the leather. The surface dirt can also be cleaned by brushing or wiping with a damp cloth. Suede leather can be cleaned with a stiff brush or fine wire brush to remove dirt and restore the nap effect or texture.

3. Conditioning

Wet leather articles have to be dried slowly at moderate temperatures. In all conditions, excessive heat must be avoided. Solvents such as benzene, carbon tetrachloride or naphtha should be used with great care to remove soil or dirt spots. Dirty spots are stains or spots which do not yield to soap and water. They are cleaned by the use of solvents.

4. Flattening

Crumpled and rolled or folded leather need to be straightened and flattened. It is achieved by rolling the leather on the opposite side/surface while moistening the leather and placing it under a flat weight. It is then moistened and rubbed with a flat tool. Finally, it is moistened and toggled to achieve flatness.

Popular Procedures for Lung Cancer Treatment

By Dr. Himanshu Garg

Lung Cancer is the most fatal and responsible for the most number of deaths among all cancers. But thankfully, it is not beyond treatment, especially in its earlier stages. The best type of Lung Cancer Treatment depends on the stage and nature of the cancer. Appropriateness of the recommended treatment depends on the expertise of the Lung Cancer Specialist and goes a long way into ensuring a successful recovery. This article provides an overview of the most popular methods of treating Lung Cancer and the common side-effects associated with them.

Surgery is the most common way of treating Lung Cancer. It involves removal of the tumor along with the affected part of the lung. Though this is a popular step, its feasibility largely depends on the stage of the cancer. Surgery is preferably not opted for, if the cancer has spread to other places. The types of surgery for Lung Cancer are determined by the size of the lung tissue which requires to get removed.
The procedure is termed Wedge Resection when only a small part of the lung has to be removed. Lobectomy or Bilobectomy is the removal of an entire lobe of the lung. In extreme cases, the entire lung may be required to be removed, in which case, it is called Pneumonectomy. Both Thoracotomy (large incision) and VATS or Video-assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (small incision) can be used for Lung Cancer Surgery. The side-effects include complications due to surgery and pain.

Radiation Therapy

Radiation Therapy is used in 3 cases. It is used to shrink the tumor before surgery, kill the remaining cancer cells that may be left after surgery, or as the primary method of Cancer Treatment. Radiation Therapy, as the primary treatment, is mostly used when the cancer has spread too far for surgery to be feasible. The radiations can be administered either from outside the body or from right within the tumor.
Radiation Therapy is however a complicated process with a host of side-effects, like skin reactions, sore throat, nausea, pain, tiredness, etc. Reaction to Radio Therapy is usually quite fast but managing the side-effects is the task of an expert.

Chemotherapy, just like Radiation Therapy, attempts to destroy the cancerous cells. However, in this case, special drugs are used in place of radiation. The drugs are administered through tablets or intravenous lines. Chemotherapy has a huge risk of killing the healthy cells too leading to side effects like appetite loss, hair loss, fatigue, and more. Chemotherapy is being replaced with targeted therapy which is more accurate in attacking the cancerous cells.

Complementary Therapies

Many patients are going for complementary therapies to accompany their regular treatment regime. Techniques like meditation, Yoga, Therapeutic Touch, Ayurved, etc. have shown to lessen the effects of side effects and provide relief. However, it is highly recommended to consult your Lung Specialist on the same.

Lung Cancer, being fatal, can take a lot of toll on the mental health of the patient and his near and dear ones. The Top Lung Cancer Treatment Centers have facilities for consultation on the same in their own premises or tie ups with those that provide the same.

The above are the some of the most popular methods that are being used to treat cancer. As further study on the matter brings newer facts to light, we are hopefully moving towards a world where Lung Cancer can kill no more. Till that times, ensure good health for your lungs with regular visits to a Lung Specialist.

Respiratory & Sleep Cure Solutions is a well-known center for Lung Specialist in Gurgaon Delhi. The team of Doctors is led by Dr. Himanshu Garg, a leading Asthma Specialist, and has successfully treated a wide range of Lung Diseases.

Why Do You Need to Choose Mobile Websites Over Mobile Apps?

By Gunjan Singh

In the world leading to technologies, there are many mobile users over the desktop and it is important for the organizations to knock the door of mobile platforms. However, the biggest concern is to decide whether to make a mobile website or to launch a mobile app. The decision completely depends on upon the nature of business and purpose to choose one of them or perhaps both.

To make a rational decision, you are required to understand the meaning of both at first. Mobile websites are similar to any other website which consist browser-based HTML pages linked together and accessed over the internet (for mobile Wi-Fi or 3G or 4G connections).

Mobile websites also display content, information, graphics and data like other standard websites. They have added features like click to call and location-based mapping.

On the other hand, mobile apps are the actual applications which are required to download and install on your mobile to use them. The users have to go through the mobile apps store to download the app where the downloading may fetch data and information from the internet.

The mobile websites are considered better due to some additional benefits. These are the following advantages to opt for websites:

Availability: The sites are available instantly as you enter the URL in the browser while applications take time and data to download and install first.

Compatibility: A website is the best way to reach all the users. Whether they are using android or IOS or window, WWW is for the whole world. Apps are limited to the different operating systems.

Upgradability: When the owner of the site updates any changes, the users can enjoy the updated version with an ease while, updating an app is a hectic task for users.

Sharing: The sharing of a URL is convenient while sharing an app requires another specific app. Instead, sharing a link on any social media platform is one click task.

Time and Money: The mobile website development is considerably better money and time saver than development of an application, particularly if you need to make a presence on various platforms.

Further steps: Launching an application on the stores is not enough to make a presence on platforms. It requires compatibility issues, ongoing development, upgrades and testing which is more expensive than launching an app.

Applications are only considerable for interactive games, regular usage or personalization and moreover when it doesn't require internet connection for usage.

Ten Things Highly Successful Women Would Have Done Differently In High School

By Madison P Singh

"What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you" - Ralph Waldo Emerson

About a year ago, I read an article written by someone who was giving advice to her younger self. I found it interesting, as I am always interested in learning from my mistakes and the mistakes of others. I am very focused on success for young women in high school and I thought it might be interesting to find out what some of the most successful women would have done differently in high school. High school really is the springboard to future success and I am forever and always a proponent of hard work and high achievement.

I devised a questionnaire and asked 60 highly successful women what advice they would give to current high school girls yearning for great successes in their lives, as well. My list of successful women included those that had reached the pinnacle of success in their respective fields, such as a Supreme Court Justice, several Chief Executive Officers and Chief Financial Officers, Law and Medical Professors at the most elite colleges in the country, a University President, a Governor, several Senators, a championship winning athlete, an Academy Award winning actress and a Pulitzer Prize winning author. Although it took me about a year to contact and compile my responses from these women, I was pleasantly surprised at their willingness to communicate their experiences and advice with me. It was also interesting that many of these women shared similar responses. In my prior research studies, high school girls who successfully embraced this advice ended up at the most elite colleges in the country. There may not be a scientific correlation at this time, but it is an interesting outcome, nonetheless. I have published this in my other articles, which I encourage you to read.

The following are the top ten things these highly successful women would have done differently in high school and some advice they shared, ranked in order of the most responses:

1. Never Let Go Of Your Dreams And Dream Big
Your dreams become your inspiration to work harder and set goals for high achievement. These women related they purposely picked goals that were difficult to achieve, such as making partner in a prestigious law firm or becoming a tenured professor by the age of 35, becoming a Supreme Court Justice and running for the office of Governor and winning. Just because a state has never elected a female Governor before doesn't mean it can't happen. If you believe in yourself, you can make it happen. If you focus, work hard enough and stay away from the distractions in high school, anything is possible. Many of the women interviewed told me that high school, retrospectively, is a little part of a bigger picture and they focused on the long term, not the short term. They advised to stay away from the drama and negative peer pressure in high school and just follow your own unique path.

2. Learn To Say "No"-
Don't pretend to be something you are not; be yourself. You are not out to please the world and you shouldn't do anything you are not comfortable doing. "No" is a very powerful word and the respondents alluded it will serve you well in the future if you learn this now. They also commented is it better to excel in a few areas than to spread yourself so thin you can't excel at anything. They also reiterated that parents are usually right, so listen to them and don't discount their advice and opinions because experience does matter.

3. Success And Money Really Are A Result Of Hard Work, Grit & Determination
Sorry to burst your bubble, but there really is no free ride or luck that takes you to the top. It is all about hard work, determination and dedication. These women kept themselves focused on the end result and worked longer hours and networked more than their peers. They were willing to take risks, work harder and pursue higher levels of education. An interesting point was all these women sacrificed something today for a greater return tomorrow. The respondents related their exceptionalism and their drive to keep achieving as drivers of their success.

4. Stay Away From People Who Tell You That You Can't.
The overwhelming advice on this point was not to let others judge you. It doesn't matter what others think about you, it's what you think of yourself that makes all the difference. It is this strong sense of self that will point you in the direction and the choices you will eventually have to make to determine your future endeavors. Keeping toxic people out of your life allows you to succeed and focus on accomplishing your goals. They also advised not to give up on something you are passionate about. Many told me they regretted quitting playing the piano or another musical instrument and cannot afford the time to learn it today. Time is precious and they advised sticking to a hobby or passion, as it will enrich your life at a later time.

5. Grudges Will Never Take You Anywhere, Let Them Go.
It is important to understand that everyone has an opinion or belief that may differ from yours and should be the basis for discussion and learning, not resentment and avoidance. The capacity to forgive has produced great leaders, such as Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi, who recognized that by forgiving people that hold you back, that have managed to hurt you, and forgiving yourself for the people whom you have hurt, you alleviate the toxicity that steals your energy, ambition and self-confidence. Essentially, it diminishes your leadership ability. Learn from the past and embrace the future.

6. Take Care Of Yourself Now.
Studies keep coming out that show what we do when are younger may have dire consequences on us when we age. Now is the time to develop healthy lifestyle changes. Exercising and eating healthy, along with the determination not to smoke, take drugs or abuse alcohol, are all imperative for leading a longer, happier and more successful life. Get at least seven hours of sleep a night and try to avoid the drive through. The respondents said these bad habits will show up in your 30's and 40's and prevention is the key.

7. Be Curious And Take Risks.
"You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water", is a famous quote by Rabindranath Tagore. Every reaction requires an action. You'll never achieve your goals if you don't take a chance. With every decision comes risk, but you only need to win more than not. The fact is you are not even in the game without taking the risk of stepping in. Take the road less traveled- these respondents said it made all the difference in their lives.

8. Failure Is Inevitable, But It Can Make You Stronger.
One thing these women had in common is they were rejected from something they intensely wanted at least one time. Each one took it as a sign to work even harder and that's what they attribute to their great success. Every one of your failures is laying out a path for your eventual success. Michael Jordan, who is regarded as the greatest basketball player in history, was cut from his varsity team numerous times and said, "I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." How do you really know what a success is if you have not experienced a failure? These women advised embracing the failure and working harder to get an even better outcome.

9. Study, Study and Study.
Get off the video games and reality television and put the time into improving your grades. With all the social media out there, it is hard to not let it invade your life, but you must. The difference between a valedictorian and a salutatorian can typically come down to one grade in high school. Colleges love to boast about the number of valedictorians and often provide greater scholarships and admissions. Students who work hard and achieve in high school learn to develop high expectations and demand stellar outcomes from themselves, which, in turn, become life-long traits. As Socrates said so eloquently, "Wisdom begins in Wonder", so start contemplating and studying.

10. Get Into The College You Really Want To Attend.
According to Vanderbilt economics and law professor Joni Hersch, who has researched and published on this subject, students who attend low-tier undergraduate institutions seldom transition to top-tier graduate schools. Even more daunting is those who do, rarely achieve the earnings power of peers who attended elite colleges. Women have it much tougher- A lower tier college graduate who attended a higher tier law school, as an example, earns only about 60 percent of the salary of a lawyer with a bachelor's degree from an elite level college. Christopher Avery, a professor of public policy at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government, has published and researched college as a mode of social mobility. Students who earn a degree from an elite college, even those with unremarkable grades and test scores, are handily too far ahead of those who don't, which is why they will never catch up. The networks, resources and teaching at the elite schools typically cannot be rivaled by other colleges and set the path for success into motion. The most elite recruiters go to the most elite colleges. Recruiters often like to select candidates from the elite colleges they attended. The take away here is work hard and get into the best college you can. It will make a difference, according to the respondents and the research.

This was an interesting and thought provoking project for me personally. As a high school sophomore with two high achieving sisters currently attending elite colleges, I have seen firsthand how the right choices in high school can impact options for future success. I hope this list helps guide you to a life filled with opportunity.

Have you ever wondered what advice some the most successful women in this country would give to current high school girls? I did and I spent over a year contacting women who have reached the pinnacle of achievement in their respective fields and created a questionnaire to get some pearls of wisdom. As a high school sophomore highly focused on education and success, I compiled a top ten list of things these women would do differently in high school, if given the opportunity. Hopefully, it will put you on a path of success, as well!

5 Common Mistakes in Your Home Business Web Design To Avoid

By Amy Austin

While every Web site design should reflect the unique qualities of the business itself, there are some universal rules of professional design that every business owner should follow. You don't want to lose a potential customer or client due to a simple mistake.

1) Don't Be Too Flashy

Flash animation certainly has its place in the Web site world - but it's typically not on the home page of your business site. Customers arrive at your Web site expecting to find helpful information about the products and services that interest them - not a slowly unfolding display of digital animation. Use flash wisely - and sparingly - in your professional Web design. I recommend not using flash at all; especially if you are using SEO. Discuss the pros and cons with your design team.

2) Don't Strain the Eye

Keeping Web site design simple can literally save you - and your customers - from headaches. Use a tried-and-true font style, such as Arial, that's sans-serif and proven to be readable. Background is another area of concern for professional Web design. Using busy patterned backgrounds or placing colored type against a black background may cause users to get frustrated and leave your site.

3) Don't Make it Difficult

Use of navigation in designing your web site is like using GPS on a road trip. Use it wisely to guide visitors to the desired destination - and they will enjoy themselves along the way. Resist the urge to get too creative with this aspect of your web page - a clean navigation panel is a user's best resource. Don't lose your customers interest in a flood of flashy pictures and spinning click here buttons.

4) Don't Waste Time

When your Web site design is full of graphics and images, it requires a greater amount of bandwidth. This increased bandwidth takes longer for the user to download. Keep in mind that some people use older computers. In the time it takes for your Web site design to load, your customer may very well decide it's not worth the wait. Only use the graphics and images that are absolutely necessary for your web site and save the rest for your portfolio.

5) Don't Overdo It

Too much or a cluttered Web site design overwhelms your site's visitors and can make your business appear unprofessional. A disorganized site tends to reflect poorly on the very business it is supposed to promote, while a professional Web design speaks volumes about your attention to detail. Keep it simple and clean.

A good website design needs to not only turn customers' heads, but also keeps them interested. Follow the simple guidelines of a business Web design and you'll see the beauty in a more positive visitor experience.

Create a Professional Web Design for Your Home Page

There's no place like home in professional Web design - the homepage, that is.

When you create a website homepage, keep in mind that first impressions truly are everything. You only have a few seconds to capture their attention. More than any other page on your site, your homepage's design should help your visitors answer several key questions about your business.

Bringing visitors to your homepage is only half the battle. In order to be effective, your homepage must also encourage visitors to stick around and take action. Whether you create a website yourself or work with a professional Web design company, there are several steps you can take to make your homepage a sticky success.

Add a Logo Design

Little things can make a big difference in professional website, and that is certainly the case with adding a logo to your homepage. A professional company can work with you to create a customized logo design that strengthens your brand identity and boosts customer confidence. This logo should also be produced in several file formats for images --.JPG,.EPS, and .TIF -- so you can use your new logo in the website or in print marketing materials.

Explain Who You Are

You'll need to tell visitors about yourself - and do it fast. Building rapport and relationship is a key part of attraction marketing for your business. As soon as a visitor arrives at your homepage, the clock is ticking. If your page does not point them directly to the information they want, they may lose interest in your company. One popular way to accomplish this -- add an "About Us" page to your website.

Reduce Scrolling

Here, web site layout takes its cue from print design. Just like a newspaper's major headlines should be above the fold, your professional Web design should place your most pertinent information above the point where a visitor must start scrolling to view. The more scrolling required by your Web design, the less likely your visitor is to stay.

Test for Compatibility

When you create a website homepage, remember that not all browsers and devices were created equal. Keeping your design simple can help you capture the largest possible audience across the board. To be sure, though, you'll need to test your website from multiple devices and browsers.

Update Regularly

Once your web site is completed, you may be tempted to leave it that way for quite some time. A website, just like a business is always changing and growing. In order for your site to keep visitors and search engines coming back for more, it must be updated regularly. You want to keep building your contact data base with new information and subscriptions.

Promote Recognition and Testimonials

When done in moderation, the homepage can be a good place to display small graphics representing rewards and recognition you've received from your clients and industry peers. By adding these graphics when you create a website homepage, you can strengthen your professionalism by showing visitors that you are a legitimate business worthy of their time.

With so much depending on your homepage, it's important to get it right. When you're ready to create a website yourself or work with a professional, remember these simple suggestions for a professional and effective site that encourages visitors to stick around.

Are Summer Camp High Ropes Courses Scary?

By Genie Fletcher

Summer camp is a place where every day is guaranteed to involve some type of adventure and high ropes courses are part of the camping experience. Yet, it is common for both parents and their kids to hesitate a bit when it comes to activities that involve an element of risk, especially if the kid is afraid of heights. While almost every camper will give a different answer regarding whether or not high ropes courses are scary, understanding how they work to build skills such as leadership and confidence will help you encourage your son or daughter to give it a try.

Safety Demonstrations

No camper ever hits the high ropes course without first being briefed regarding the safety rules and types of equipment used to protect them from injury. Knowing that only state-of-the-art harnesses and other equipment is being used gives kids reassurance that they will be safe on the ropes. During these safety demonstrations, campers are taught how to check their gear, and they get the chance to experience a short fall so they know that their harness will hold their weight.

Strategic Course Progression

High ropes courses are designed to foster a camper's ability to trust in themselves and others. For this reason, no one ever starts at the highest element. Instead, kids begin with small challenges that let them test out their skills and courage before moving on to the big thrill. Often, a camper will start on a low ropes course before progressing to the higher ropes. This allows those who are afraid of heights to slowly acclimate to the sensation of being off the ground.

Kid-Directed Advancement

Since the point of a high ropes course is to focus on building trust in one's abilities, campers are never forced to tackle an element that sparks serious fear. Instead, they are encouraged to go at their own pace and to try new elements as their comfort level increases. While gentle encouragement is offered to help kids overcome hurdles, staff members and the other campers never pressure anyone to tackle an obstacle they find scary. Instead, kids tend to advance on their own due to their natural sense of adventure when previous elements become too easy.

Rewards for Safe Risk-Taking

Camp is the perfect place for kids to learn how to take safe risks. Developing the ability to assess a situation and decide to step out of their comfort zone pays off when they can leave camp with the confidence to raise their hand in class or score that impossible goal on the sports field. On a high ropes course, kids will find fun and rewarding elements such as zip lines and giant swings that let them literally fly through the air with exhilaration after conquering their fear.

So are summer camp high ropes courses scary? A little bit... but that's the point. Kids are naturally drawn to thrills that satisfy their need for adventure and high ropes courses use that need to teach them how to overcome fear and learn to trust in their own abilities. With every element of the course that a kid conquers at camp, they develop a strong sense of self-confidence which inspires them to reach new heights in every area of their life.

Family - Love Them and Let Them Go, They'll Thank You Later

By Lorie Ann Jermoune

Family members are wonderful, colorful, and a reflection, gauge or a barometer of a small peek into the window of how our thoughts and judgments formulated into the truths that we live by and reveal how we calculate our responses and reactions to our life challenges. That is one of the key elements in any interpersonal relationship, first of all, there are the emotive responses and the logical responses that are all part of the human experience. We are all innately responding to factors in our environment whether we realize it or not. Conditioning and environment play key factors in our responses and reactions to life events, though much of the judgment is inner chatter or discussion that resonates with what we believe to be true, lawful, or what resonates with our sense of justice.

We did not choose our parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles or cousins, you get the picture? Now if only they would get it too! This is neither a critique or a judgement, simply an assessment brought to light.

I love my family, there's no discounting that; I would do anything in my power to assist anyone of them, as I already have. Many, many, many times too many to publicly admit; it's NOT the admitting that's brings about the most pain, it's that it continues to leave my emotional tank on,"E." I still am not accepted as an individual that plays by different thoughts of logic, reasoning and most often sought mainly for problem-solving or guidance.* Even the giver of emotional time and investment of others is deserving of receiving and giving something more concrete and valuable; reciprocal appreciation. I give to them from my heart; listen, engage, and understand even if I do not agree, I show empathy and controlled responses before reacting in a negative or judgmental way. It's quite the paradox to grow up and still be deemed as young in thought or not viewed to full adulthood. It's actually both disheartening and discouraging.

It's not in the giving, that I am looking for their love, it's in the gift of giving; in the stretching of my hand; in the hope to receive empathy, peace and love back; that is the dilemma for me at-hand, not be shown respect of thought, love and affection;* I now choose to change the pattern for my health and for theirs as well!

The issue is always, what will they expect for me to do next? I wish them well, and I gotta let them go for a little while, till I get stronger or till they understand that life is to be lived and enjoyed by all and that includes a life of peaceful living for me as well as for them! It's okay to take a break from the family dynamic, at least until you have had time to regroup and console yourself with productive counseling and rebuilding relationship structures and dynamics. Not an easy feat, by any means, though the return can be amazing!

Foster healthy relationships for yourself and for your loved ones to understand that history has already happened and it is in the electricity or static energy that we need to fix our current reality: Just like an electrical current, there is energy, submission, an ultimate power source,(God),working with our family, the same applies to you and me, our family can be an assistant power source, or a missing link, if that's how they choose to think.

Family is beautiful and like kryptonite is to Superman, a very strong man, though very susceptible to outer energy, beyond his super-human strength, massive physical statue and ability to overcome obstacles. After all Superman was a man too! He hurt, felt sad, needed empathy and compassion, not that there's anything wrong with that. If we remember from the movies, Superman sought comfort and guidance from his family, during crucial times when he needed support and guidance. His parents left messages behind knowing of his need for family strength and counseling- they supported him even after death. Can you imagine if more families did that?

We all need to feel loved and appreciated, no matter how strong we are expected to appeal or appear to family and friends, we are all deserving of love and appreciation. After you return from taking a family break, your loving family will be happy and thank you immensely, content to no end, that you showed yourself worthy of time alone, and did something healthy for yourself. They will be glad that you took time to get to know yourself better making you a happier person, ready to explore new adventures!

Love your family, and if you can, love mine too, I know that I do!!!

I enjoy learning from you and from others offering me knowledge continuously!

By Seema Rawat

I took more time to write this article as compared to other articles of mine in order to make it more informative and useful for the readers who want to gather good information about BONE CANCER. I hope my article will provide you the best requirements.

Cancer is a dangerous disease which is rapidly increasing day by day. Cancer is not a single disease. Cancers actually are of different types, including, Brain, Breast, Blood, Bladder, Lung, Cervical, Ovarian, Colorectal, Pancreatic, Esophageal, Kidney, Skin, Thyroid, Liver, Uterine, etc.

Cancer begins when cells grow out of control and crowd out normal cells of our body. It can infect any part of the human being. Cancer actually makes hard for the body to work in a normal manner. In fact, sometimes, it becomes hard to save the life of a cancer patient. But, a proper treatment works very well for many people.

The cells in human bodies have a certain set of jobs. Normal cells divide in an orderly way. They die when they are damaged and a new cell takes their place.

The cancer cells grow out of control and make new cells. They infect normal cells too. The cancer cells cause problems in the part of the body where the cancer started. In fact, they can also spread to other parts of the body.

Some cancers grow as well as spread quickly while other cancers grow slowly. In fact, their treatment procedure responds in different manners. Some types of cancer are best treated with surgery while others respond better to drugs called chemotherapy.

The first priority of a doctor is to know about the type of cancer a person is suffering from. After that he continues the treatment procedure accordingly.

Bone cancers are of two types which includes primary and secondary bone cancer. A primary bone cancer takes place in the bone while secondary cancer begins elsewhere in the body and then after spreads to the bone of the human body.

OSTEOSARCOMA: This is also called as OSTEOGENIC SARCOMA. In fact, it is the most common type of bone cancer and typically begins in bone cells of arms and legs. This type of bone cancer occurs most frequently in a person between the ages of 10 and 30. It is more common in males as compared to females.

CHONDROSARCOMA: It begins in cartilage cells. It is found that it is the second most common form of the bone cancer. It occurs rarely in an individual under the age of 20.

EWING TUMOR: It is also known as Ewing's sarcoma, typically develop in the bones, but can also take place in other tissues as well as muscles. This type of bone cancer is the third most common type of primary bone cancer. This tumor infects children and adolescents.

FIBROSARCOMA TUMOR: This tumor typically forms in the soft tissue around the bones, such as tendons, ligaments and fat or muscle. These types of bone cancer infect in the arms, legs and jaws of adults.

GIANT CELL TUMOR: This tumor has two different forms, including, benign and malignant. It often forms in the arm or leg bones of young and middle-aged adults. This type of cancer rarely spreads to other area of the human body.

CHORDOMA TUMOR: This kind of tumor affects bones in the spine and the base of the skull. It develops most frequently in adults about 30 or older, mostly men. This type of tumor grows slowly with a low risk of spreading to different parts, but may return at the original part if not removed completely during surgery, and may eventually spread to the lungs and liver.

PAIN: Pain in the affected bone is the most common symptom of patients suffering from bone cancer. In the beginning, the pain is not constant. It may be increased at night or when the bone is used due to several activities, like walking and running. As the cancer spreads, the pain will remain all the time.

SWELLING: Swelling in the area of the pain may not take place until a few weeks later. It might be possible to feel a mass or lump depending on the area of the cancer. Tumor in the bones of the neck can lead to lump in the back of the throat that causes trouble in swallowing and breathing.

FRACTURES: Bone cancer weakens the bone it develops in, but most of the time the bones do not fracture. People with a bone fracture often describe sudden pain in a limb that had been sore for a few months.
